Privacy Policy

The honest summary

BluLoans is an educational and comparison website. It has no user accounts, no loan applications, and no login. The personal information we handle is limited to (1) standard analytics data collected through Google Analytics 4 and (2) whatever you choose to send us by email. That is the whole inventory today, and this policy is written to match what the site actually does — not to reserve rights we do not use.

This policy applies to bluloans.com. It does not apply to any funding provider's site you visit after leaving ours.

What we collect

Analytics data (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used — which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, what devices they use, and how they move through the site. GA4 collects data such as approximate location (derived from IP), device and browser type, pages viewed, and interaction events. We use this to improve content and site performance, not to build individual profiles.

GA4 sets cookies; see our Cookie Policy for the categories in use and how to control them, and Your Privacy Choices for opt-out options, including the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Email you send us voluntarily

If you email us — a question, a correction, a privacy request — we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it to respond and keep reasonable records of correspondence. We do not add you to marketing lists; as of this policy's date, we do not operate one.

The same applies to our contact form: it collects only your name, email address, a topic, and your message, and forwards them to us as an email through our email delivery provider. Nothing you type in the form is stored on our servers or used for any purpose other than responding to you. {{LEGAL REVIEW}} Confirm the email delivery provider's data-processing terms are referenced here once the production provider is finalized.

What we do NOT collect

This list is the most important part of the policy:

  • No loan applications. You cannot apply for funding on BluLoans, so we never collect application data.
  • No Social Security numbers, no bank account or financial account numbers, no credit card numbers. We have no forms that ask for them, and you should never email them to us — see our Security page.
  • The funding selector and calculators store nothing server-side. The numbers and answers you enter into our calculators and the funding selector are processed in your browser. They are not transmitted to our servers, not saved by us, and not linked to you. Aggregate usage of the tools (e.g., "the calculator page was visited") appears in analytics like any other page view, but your inputs do not.
  • No accounts, no passwords, no profiles. There is nothing to sign up for.

How we share information

  • Google, as our analytics provider, processes GA4 data under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Service providers that host the site or handle email process data only as needed to provide those services.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process.
  • We do not sell your personal information. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information for our position, including how the referral model will be handled when provider partnerships launch.

When you leave BluLoans

Our comparison tools and content link out to third-party funding providers and to primary sources like the SBA and CFPB. Once you click through, the destination site's own privacy policy governs everything you do there — including any application you complete with a provider. We do not control provider-side data practices and cannot delete data you give a provider directly. Review a provider's privacy policy before submitting anything.

Cookies

We use essential cookies and GA4 analytics cookies, and no advertising cookies in this version of the site. Details, categories, and browser controls are in the Cookie Policy.

Your choices and rights

You can browse this site without providing any personal information at all. Beyond that:

Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights — such as rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. {{LEGAL REVIEW}} Counsel must determine which state privacy laws apply to BluLoans at launch based on entity location, traffic thresholds, and revenue (CCPA/CPRA for California, VCDPA for Virginia, Colorado CPA, Connecticut CTDPA, Utah UCPA, and other state laws now in effect), and add the required state-specific rights sections, response timelines, verification procedures, and any "notice at collection" language accordingly.

We honor opt-out preference signals where required; see the Global Privacy Control statement on Your Privacy Choices.

Children's privacy

BluLoans is a business-funding site intended for adults operating or starting businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email privacy@bluloans.com and we will delete it.

Data retention

Email correspondence is retained as long as reasonably needed to handle the matter and maintain records, then deleted in the ordinary course. GA4 retention is configured within Google Analytics settings. {{LEGAL REVIEW}} Confirm the configured GA4 data-retention period and state it here explicitly before launch.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will update the review date at the top of the page. For material changes — new categories of collection, new sharing practices — we will post a notice on this page describing what changed. We will not retroactively apply material changes to previously collected data without a lawful basis.

Contact

Privacy questions and requests: privacy@bluloans.com. General contact routes are on our Contact page.

{{LEGAL REVIEW}} Confirm the privacy@bluloans.com mailbox exists and is monitored before launch; confirm whether a postal address must be listed for applicable state-law compliance; and verify the GA4 configuration (IP handling, data sharing settings, Google Signals off) matches the descriptions in this policy.
