What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some make a site function; others count visits or, on many sites, track you for advertising. This page lists the categories BluLoans actually uses — which is a short list — and how to control them.
This page is the cookie companion to our Privacy Policy. For opt-outs beyond browser settings, see Your Privacy Choices.
Categories we use
1. Essential cookies
These are the minimal cookies or browser-storage entries needed for the site to function correctly and securely — for example, remembering a preference like reduced motion or a dismissed notice, where applicable. They do not track you across other websites and do not contain profiling data. Because the site has no accounts and no login, we have no session or authentication cookies.
2. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage: which pages get read, how visitors arrive, what devices they use. GA4 sets cookies (names typically beginning with _ga) to distinguish visitors and sessions. We use this data to improve content and performance.
Important context for a funding site: our calculators and funding selector run in your browser, and the numbers you enter are not sent to our servers or to Google as inputs. Analytics sees that a tool page was used, not what you typed into it.
Categories we do NOT use
- No advertising or targeting cookies. In this version of the site, BluLoans sets no cookies for ad targeting, retargeting, or cross-site tracking, and no third-party ad networks run on the site.
- No social media tracking pixels.
- No cookies from funding providers. Providers can only set cookies after you click through to their own sites, where their own cookie policies apply.
If we ever add a new category, this page will change first, along with its review date, and any consent tooling required by applicable law will be added at the same time. {{LEGAL REVIEW}} Confirm whether a cookie-consent banner is required for the launch audience (e.g., if the site will be marketed to or measurably visited from jurisdictions requiring prior consent for analytics cookies) or whether disclosure plus opt-out is sufficient for a US-focused launch.
How to control cookies
In your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, block third-party cookies specifically, or clear them on exit. Look under Settings → Privacy (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, and others follow similar patterns). Blocking analytics cookies does not break BluLoans — every guide, comparison page, and calculator works without them.
Google Analytics opt-out
Google provides an official browser add-on that prevents GA4 from collecting your data on any site, available from Google at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Instructions and additional options are on Your Privacy Choices.
Opt-out preference signals
For our treatment of Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals, see the statement on Your Privacy Choices.
